A Contest: Ari for a Day!
Ari Fleischer is leaving his post and I thought the best way to celebrate commemorate this loss would be to have a contest. Post your entry in the comments and whoever has the best one, I'll buy you a copy of the winner's choice of any one of the books on my Bookshelf on the left (does not include Web Design books on the left ... what you think I'm made of money?).
Take Ari's now famous quote:
"I think the burden is on those people who think [Saddam] didn't have weapons of mass destruction to tell the world where they are."
and construct your own appropriate quote. Let me start you off:
"I think the burden is on those people who think [the Bush Administration] didn't create jobs to tell the world where they are."
Contest closes July 25th. Enter early, enter often.
Update: Just in case the winner doesn't like any of the books on the Bookshelf, I'm willing to substitute a choice of one of the CDs in Dangerous Music (also on the left) or a $10 gift certificate from Amazon to spend as the winner wishes.
Criteria: Entry has to be in the Spirit of Ari. The burden must be unreasonable and preferably logically impossible. Bonus points if it is topical. Extra bonus points if it is funny and subtly bashes Bush. If you don't have an entry you can still promote your favourites. If you like one give it a +1 (one vote per comment). Tell your friends.
Update 2.0: Contest is open to all nations. Non-English entries should include a reasonable English translation. If Amazon doesn't deliver to your country, I'll figure out some way of getting it to you (allow 6-10 weeks for delivery if I've got to handle it myself). Canadians have to answer a skill-testing question if they are the prize winner. There is no limit to the number of entries.

"I think the burden is on those people who think tax cuts won't help our economy to tell the world how they plan to reduce the deficit."
"I think the burden is on those people who think Ashcroft is trampling civil liberties to tell the world why the Bill of Rights is a threat to national security and an invitation to tyranny."

I think the burden is on the people who have said that economy has lost jobs to point out where those jobs have gone. If you can’t locate where they went, that means that they were never actually lost. Since no jobs were lost, the newly unemployed people are not actually newly unemployed. They are people who have seen how well the economy is doing under Bush and so have decided to re-eneter the job market. So as you can see, the rise in the newly unemployed numbers is actually a sign that Bush’s tax cuts are working to restore the economy, which is why Bush will ask for more tax cuts next year.

I'm not sure if this counts, but over at Big Picnic our conservative standard bearer is applying for the job:

Oh, and a comic on the quote in question as well.
Ok, sorry. I'm really not normally this self-promotative.

This is fun. How about his one:
"I think the burden is on [Mrs. Fleischer] to explain why I shouldn't sleep with her sister".

Those who create such sordid contests as this do a great disservice to free speech in this country. President Bush will deeply regret the necessity of having to close down such a site. I think the creator of the website should explain to the American People why he is willing to endanger the First Amendment of our Constitution by forcing the Government of the United States to censor him, especially when it has more important things to do, such as ensuring the ongoing libration of Iraq and the destruction of Terrorism.

The burden of proof is on those people who think Bush is a liar to tell the world why he went to war in the first place.

I think the burden is on those people who don't think that the idea of an Ari for a Day Contest is funny to explain why my infamous statement is best parodied by an entry that doesn't appear to make any sense whatsoever.

The burden of proof on those Presidents of the United States who think the buck stops somewhere else is to show where else the buck stops. Otherwise the bell tolls.
